We did not have anything too exciting going on last weekend. Between working out, going out to eat to a new American restaurant (Applebee’s!) and catching up with homework was not much time left. And of course watching the Kentucky Basketball game against Tennessee, it was a good and tough game, but we WON!Hope everyone is haaving a great day!

Wow, I can’t believe how long it has been, since I wrote my last post. That shows you all, that I’m a busy girl over here. ;)
Let’s start with.. Thanksgiving! It’s a ttraditional American Holiday, all the amily eats a meal together – the meal: Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Stuffing, Noodles, Cranberry and Pumpkin Pie. The day after Thanksgiving we went Black-Friday Shopping, trying to get some great deals. We were at Walmart around 10 o’clock and did not come home until 6am on Friday. It was crazy, soo many people fighting for electronics and other things.
The weekend after Thanksgiving we put up our Christmas tree, a fake tree, out of a box with electric lights on it. I was impressed.
Haha in December I started with Track practice, which is great. The girls are so much fun and I can learn a lot from the coaches.

I did a lot of Christmas Shopping in December and found some great gifts for my host family. As soon as Christmas Break started I started baking Christmas Cookies for them (they usually do not bake a whole lot of cookies for Christmas except from Chocolate chip cookies and Snickerdoodles). They loved them! The actual holiday we spent with visiting with family, eating and opening gifts. It was a great time with a lot of fun.
It’s New Years Day now.. 2012 is here. I can hardly believe it, time is passing by so fast. 2011 was probably the best year of my life so far. Coming to America was the best decision I have ever made and I am very thankful for all the help and support from my family back home. All the people that make this time here wonderful for me I have thank as well. Especially my amazing host family, Tonya and Josh, Heidi and Nick, Samuel and Michael.

I started a new trimester on Monday, that means new classes, new people and a lot of exciting stuff. Before I got to school on Monday I felt kinda like on the first school day. How would it be?
My new classes are Chemistry (Pre-AP), US Coming of Age, Psychology, Advanced PE and AP Calculus. It will be harder than I exspected, but I have aleady met new and interesting people, like Marketa, the exchange student from Czech republic, James, a boy that moved from England to Owensbot=ro a few years ago and and .. of course Mr.Smith, the funniest or better craziest history teacher I have ever had. He seems to be so excited about the stuff he teaches, he just loves it. That’s why you cannot dislike it.

As every Friday, I am excited about the weekend. We are going shopping in Evansville tomorrow, and having our first Thanksgiving meal with Josh’s family on Sunday. I am so ready for it,Tonya is going to cook the typical American Thanksgiving meal, Turkey with stuffing and cranberry, mashed potatoes, green beans, nudles or dumplings and pumpkin pie.

Anyway, the real Thanksgiving meal we are eatingon Thanksgiving day at Jodey’s. Of course is she not cooking, Tonya, her mom e coming to her haouse to cook haha she is too funny!

However, it’ time to pay attention to our sub.
I will talk to you later!

It has been a while since my last post. I am sorry, I was very busy. Let me tell you about my weekend..

Friday night I talked to my mom and sister at home, which was really nice. We had then Salsaritas for dinner, Mexican again. After a few games of sequence we called it a day and went to bed. On Saturday we did our shopping, I do not know how many different stores we went to and how much money we finaly spend.. it was fun though. In the afternoon we painted our new hot tub we got from Heidi and Nick for free. Saturday night I wen t to see Taylor sing @ The Creme. She did a very good job! After that Leah took me to Jamie’s, she had a camp fire there. We were having a good time and I had Marhsmallows for the first time.

On Sunday we finished working on the hot tube, and made a trip to Indiana, visiting with Tonya’s mom. In the afternoon I had to study for my finals this week.. It is gonna be awful haha.

However, I am having a long day today, NHS meeting before school and practice after school. That’s why I am glad to be off tomorrow and so having time to study for my exams.

Have a great day!

I did not much during Fall Break. we had practice in the mornings and in the afternoons I had to start with my papers for the final exams. School was very busy last week, the teachers are all worried, because there is not much time left in this trimester. I signed up for Indoor Track on Friday, because the Cross Country Season is almost over. We have the first track meetings in January but will start lifting weights immediately after Cross Country is over.
I am going to watch the Soccer match today @ noon. Tomorrow we will go to Santa Claus to see Jodey and the boys.

I hope, everybody at home has a nice weekend!

I can’t believe how long it has been, that I did not publish a post here.
Let’s see.. I didn’t even tell you about Gatlinburg. We left on Friday before Fall Break, right after school. After we stopped at Wendy’s to grab a burger for dinner, we hit the road. Our GPS told us 5 hours. Oh well, Tonya was driving, Josh was eating his Triple (!) Bacon Burger, I have never seen such a huge burger before, and I was talking to heidi on the phone - she was so excited! We arrived at Gatlinburg City around midnight eastern time. Then we had to find our cabin, the challenge began. It took us around an hour, we were so lost, haha. But then we fortunately arrived, our cabin was amazing! Nevertheless we all were supertired, we jumped into the hot tub and were having such a good time, that we forgot the time and were sitting there for about 2 hours. It was 3.30 until we got in bed.. that’s what we call vacation!
The next day we got up early and Tonya fixed us a big breakfast before we left for the Outlet mall in Pigeon Forge. It is a really huge mall, we did some shopping and had lunch at a country food restaurant. In the afternoon we visited the Craft Fair in Gatlinburg and strolled along the main road, which was lined with little shops.
It was the early evening, when we got back to our cabin. We played board games for some time, cooked a big meal (grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, maccaroni and tomatoes, sweet peas, chips & dip, cake) to celebrate Tonya’s birthday. Around 11 it was again time for the hot tub, and we were sitting there (having deep discussions) for another 3.5 hours.
The next day, after a big breakfast, we went to see the actual Smokys and drove until North Carolina. We came back and did Horse back Riding and saw Blach Bears while doing that. We passed the afternoon with some hiking and went then back to our cabin to watch football, play games and do some more cooking. After dinner we spent some more hours in the hot tub.
On Monday morning we packed out things and had to leave. It was an awesome vacation, we had a lot of fun!!

On Sunday I will be thinking of Suzanne (second Cross Country coach), she is running her first marathon in Chiacgo, after she has been training hard for months! Coach Fortney, Mrs. Fortney and Coach Rowe, who is running hisself, are accompaning her. Best of luck Suzanne!!

I wish everybody a nice weekend!!

Anyway it’s Tonya’s birthday today and we are busy getting our dress clothes ready for the wedding in Jasper today. It will be a big Catholic wedding, we will have a lot of fun.
Tomorrow we will get the boat ready for winter (it dropped to 49° today, yeah!) and organising the last things for our trip to Gatlinburg. Samuel has finally decided to go with us, which is nice and makes Tonya really happy. She is a bit disappointed, because neither Heidi or Samuel have wished her a Happy Birthday yet. But I guess Heidi is calling her now, yay!

I got into the National Honor Society, Daviess County High School, State of Kentucky. We found the letter in the mail last night and first I did not know what that should be. Tonya explained me, that the top students of every school can join it. Every student wants to do that, there are monthly meetings, we will get in the year book and on Thursday is the beginning celebration. I cannot see the honor and sense in that but Tonya and Josh, Meghan and all the girls are superstoked and keep telling me that it’s a big thing.

However I met Cheryl, Josh’s sister last weekend. She is a very nice and interesting person, she works for the safety department of a offshore wind park in New Hampshire. She stopped on her drive from Arkansas, where her husband lives, to New Hampshire, that means 26 hours of driving! Before she arrived we did our walk-run for cancer patients in Evansville. It was fun, Tonya and I ran it, Josh and Michael walked. Unfortunately rain was teeming down while we were running, I do not think I have ever got that wet before.

On Sunday I went back to Evansville with Jodey, Bettye and the boys. We found the perfect birthday gift for Tonya, I am so excited and can’t wait to give it to her. And Samuel is happy too, because he can join us, he told me it will be the first year that he does not get her flowers. He is just funny ;-)

I hope everybody had a nice weekend and is has a good week (it’s gonna be a 4-days week for me, I’m off on Friday, yay!)
